 TaylorMade Golf has done a lot of work to engineer forged irons for a wide spectrum of golfers and succeeded in spades with the Tour Preferred family. The Muscleback (TPMB), Muscle Cavity (TPMC) and Cavityback (TPCB) break new ground for TMaG forged irons with the use of a weight port directly behind the hitting area.

 Because of the forging process clubmakers often place weight cartridges in the hosel to get the proper balance and swingweight as they progress through the set. However, hosel weighting affects where the head’s center of gravity is and to give consistent feel from long irons to the wedges plus provide the best performance iron to iron, precise location of the center of gravity is a must.
