Since January the success of the R11 Driver has allowed TaylorMade Golf Company to gain additional market share and dominate that segment of the club business. Therefore it of little surprise when their latest game-improvement category irons were announced they would carry the R11 name.
TMaG says, unlike the way irons are designed to help recreational players the new R11s do not have a big rear cavity, a thick top line or super wide soles. They do have a cleaner, less “clunky” look and play with a softer feel.
”The R11 iron is truly a masterwork of beauty, technology and performance,” said Sean Toulon, executive vice president. “We’ve never created an iron that combines this kind of distance, this kind of forgiveness, is this easy to launch, and feels and sounds this soft and solid. And its appearance is extraordinarily beautiful, a gorgeous blend of smooth, classic lines and high-tech flourishes.” MORE…
