Arnie by Quagmire

Not long ago Quagmire Golf founders Geoff Tait and Bobby Pasternak were just a couple of guys with an idea for trendier clothes on the golf course. If you haven’t already heard, this spring the Toronto businessmen entered into a multi-year partnership with, ‘The King.’ Arnold Palmer is arguably the greatest ambassador and the biggest icon the game has ever known. Quagmire founders have seized a great opportunity to team with him to create a retro line of clothing known as “Arnie.” Pretty surreal.

Arnie Retro ShirtTait and Pasternak plan to roll out this new Arnie brand as a throwback to pay tribute to the three eras of Arnie’s reign in the game of golf. Retail distribution plans call for three distinct deliveries of Arnie. The brand will officially launch spring 2012 with a line showcasing retro Palmer apparel from the 1950s. Two months later the 1960s products will hit retail shelves before closing with an early fall unveiling of vintage 1970s Palmer apparel. Upgrades to the products include modern fabrication technology to infuse performance and wearability.

Nothing Arnie does is taken lightly; at 81 years of age he still holds more clout than anyone in the game. It is a big deal he has decided to outsource the creative control for his namesake clothing line; it is both a huge honor and heavy burden for Tait and Pasternak. We are sure they will step up to the tee and achieve a hole in one.
