Lee Westwood is back to defend his only win on U.S. soil this week at the FedEx St. Jude Classic. Last year we witnessed an epic collapse by Robert Garrigus on the TPC Southwind track, but Garrigus had the last say winning the final TOUR event of the season and thus securing his card. The forecast calls for some extreme heat so we’ll see how the players hold up, and for some it’s a prep week for the U.S. Open next week in Washington, D.C.
I’m coming off of a monster week last week, where I notched another winner (Stricker), and also had the runner-up (Kuchar) and a top 5 in McIlroy. Lets see if I can continue the momentum this week!

The field is pretty light this week, but that seems to be the case the week before a major. Jonathan Byrd is on a bit of a mini roll lately, and with a win earlier in the season he’s a good pick to start out of the A group. Backing him up Brian Gay is a good choice. He’s trending upwards, and is also a previous winner of this event in 2009.
I don’t know how you can’t start David Toms in the B group. He’s rested, after taking two weeks off following his win at Colonial, and Toms has also won this event twice and has six other top 5s to speak of here. I also like John Senden in the B group. Senden is coming off a solid T7 last week at the Memorial so we’ll see if he can continue the momentum.
The C list has the most choices, however not all that many strongs ones. Zach Johnson has finished 12th or better in his last three starts and his game looks to be rounding in to form. Backing him up I like hometown boy (lives a few hours away in Nashville) Brandt Snedeker. TPC Southwind sets up well to his game and has some similar traits to Harbourtown, where he won earlier this year.
Starting Foursome: Jonathan Byrd, David Toms, John Senden, Zach Johnson
Bench Players: Brian Gay, Ben Crane, Brendan de Jong, Brandt Snedeker
My Year-to-Date Stats are:
Current Points: 3290
Points Last Week: 214
Current Percentile: 97th

Top 5s picked so far: 21
