Golf Conditioning: It's Time

Posted in myNEGM Lesson Tee by on September 6th, 2011

Labor Day is over and it is time to start thinking about how you can improve your chances of actually winning those weekend skins games next year. Too early you say? I think not.

An hour a week working with a certified fitness expert trained in exercise programs specifically designed for golf can make all the difference in your golf swing and game. The growth of golf fitness and conditioning programs is astounding. Search on the internet typing in the words ‘golf fitness conditioning programs’. To narrow your search, add the area and state where you live. Golf conditioning and fitness is very specific and has nothing to do with turning you into some muscle bound Adonis. You won’t see a bunch of guys and gals standing around admiring their bulging muscles. Chances are, the only equipment you are going to see are balance balls, pulleys mounted on the wall, mirrors and the like. Visit a couple of facilities in your area to see if you are comfortable with the programs being offered as well as the instructor. Ask questions and, if you can, spend a little time watching customers as they go through their routine.

Once you decide on a program, schedule your evaluation so a program can be tailored to fit your needs. An hour a week through the off season will make you a winner next year, and, you won’t miss a quarter of football. It’s a win, win situation.
