Oppenheim & Murphy Punch Their Tickets

Rob Oppenheim and Trevor Murphy both shot one under par in round four to punch their tickets to the Final Stage of PGA Tour Q-School the first week of December at Bear Lakes. Rob who finished T13 at Callaway Gardens is a member at Indian Ridge Country Club in Andover, MA and Trevor who finished T18 at Southern Hills is from St. Johnsbury, VT. Both players have accomplished a great deal in 2009 with Rob winning the MA Open and Trevor making the cut at the US Open.
The icing on the cake would be a PGA Tour card by finishing in the top 32 after six rounds at Bear Lakes in the finals.
At Hombre Jon Curran had been battleing his way to the top with four consecutive birdies on 12, 13, 14 and 15 making pars of 16 and 17. When he reached the 18th hole which is a tight tee shot with water left and OB right, Jon was on the number (not that he knew) and a par would secure his advance to the finals. Unfortunetly he suffered a quintuple bogey 9 on the final hole to miss by exactly five shots. The pressure that q-school creates is unmatched in any sport and I am sure Jon will take this experiance, learn from it and be back even stronger in 2010.
Brad Adamonis who had full status on the PGA Tour in 2009 missed by 5. He will have two medical exemptions on the PGA Tour in 2010 and full status on the Nationwide Tour due to his win in 2008. We have not seen the last of Brad.
