DURAMED FUTURES TOUR RETURNS TO BEAVER MEADOW GOLF COURSE

By: Duramed Futures Tour Staff on 03/04/10 07:23 AM

Concord, NH March 3, 2010--Concord’s Beaver Meadow Golf Course will once again play host to the LPGA’s developmental tour, the  Duramed FUTURES Tour.  This year the tournament will be named “The International at Concord” with a purse of $120,000.  One hundred forty four professional women golfers from around the world will make Concord their “tournament home” during the week of July 19 through 25.

“Building on a strong foundation of six years, the Duramed FUTURES Tour has been the only LPGA event in New England.  The community has taken the tournament to its heart and has helped create an exciting and entertaining event,” said Ken Robinson, General Counsel for Northeast Delta Dental and one of the event’s sponsors, “Now is the time to reach out beyond the Concord area and show New England what a great sporting event we have.”  Robinson is the project manager of the event for Northeast Delta Dental and is also the chair of the volunteer committee and a member of the Rotary Club of Concord.

Due to Northeast Delta Dental’s involvement the tournament will return to the Granite State.  “We are proud to be a supporter of “The International at Concord”. This tournament brings young golfers from around the nation and around the world to our headquarters city—giving this city a global exposure  while helping to raise much needed money for local charities,” said Thomas Raffio, President of Northeast Delta Dental.

The 54-hole tournament will benefit the Rotary Club Foundation of Concord, which helps individuals and organizations in greater Concord, NH.  This year, “The International at Concord” will be the 13th stop on the 17 tournament Duramed FUTURES Tour.  The 2009 winner, Misun Cho of Cheongju, South Korea will be playing full time on the 2010 LPGA Tour after earning her LPGA card following her success on the Duramed FUTURES Tour.

“We are very happy to continue our Tour stop in New Hampshire,” said Zayra F. Calderon, CEO of the Duramed FUTURES Tour, “With Northeast Delta Dental, the Rotary Club of Concord and a team of enthusiastic volunteers , this year’s tournament promises to be the premier women’s golf event for all of New England.”

The Duramed FUTURES Tour will bring the world’s top young women golfers to 17 events in 2010. The 30th anniversary season of the Tour will feature purses totaling nearly $2 million, as well as its first full-field international event, to be held in Mexico. The schedule includes 16 returning tournaments, to be held in 13 states, in addition to the event in Mexico. For the first time in the Tour’s history, all stops on the Tour will boast purse amounts of $100,000 and more.
