Author Josh Karp has tapped into the nerve center of teaching, at least from this teaching pro's standpoint.

As an avid 'non reader' of virtually anything, unless it has pictures, I opened STRAIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE and was instantly aware that I knew this guy. I must have worked with him at some point!!!!

Honestly, I laughed at his search for 'golf nervana'..and a lower handicap. But, the more I got into 'his quest', the more I realized this book is a must read for golfers, almost golfers, retired golfers, Labor Day golfers, (the ones who play their one round of golf over Labor Day out of guilt for not playing AGAIN all season), good golfers, not so good golfers and, heck, non golfers!

Karp's search took him literally all over the country and Scotland in search of the illusive 'secret'. Interestingly he did not find it at the feet of a PGA teaching professional!

Just so you know, when he stared his journey, his handicap was a solid 18. Solid, in that the number had been 18 for some years. Or, was it decades? After his sojourn, his number was down to 11! Anyone who has tried to lower their handicap knows how huge that is.

The book is being praised in all corners. Josh has been interviewed all over the country and now will be my guest on mynegm LESSON TEE Radio/Internet Show, August 25th, to share his experiences with listeners. I'll give you one clue to the secret: It is a thinking man's game not a thinking man's swing. Gee, that sounds familiar.

Honestly, I never thought I would be talking Zen or Buddism with ANYONE on ANY level on the show. EVER. I have, however, learned never to say never....and am looking forward to Josh Karp's insights into the reality of the game vs the reality of the swing.
