Course Review: The Shattuck - Jaffrey, NH

By: Jeff Palopoli on 07/12/10 03:38 PM   |   DISCUSS

I normally wouldn't drive 2 hours to the middle of nowhere to go play golf on a weekday, but my buddy had a voucher for a free foursome at The Shattuck up in Jaffrey, NH. I had heard about The Shattuck for years, and in fact my college team played a tournament there (that I didn't play in), and heard it was a tough "target golf" type of course. Before heading up there I had Tweeted to a couple of my fellow "tweeps" who I know live in New Hampshire and asked if they had played it before. Neither had, but their responses were exactly the same. "No I haven't, but from what I hear... bring a lot of balls."   —   » Read More: Course Review: The Shattuck - Jaffrey, NH

Candia Woods

By: Matt Manco on 05/13/10 10:30 PM   |   DISCUSS

Touted as the “friendliest” course in New Hampshire, Candia Woods Golf Links creates unique challenges while remaining a user-friendly layout. If you’re looking for tight landing areas and severe hazards you won’t find many, but don’t be fooled by all the green Candia Woods won’t go quietly, especially in the gale force winds blowing during my round.   —   » Read More: Candia Woods

The term "a private golf club experience for the public golfer" has been one of the most over used clichés when describing the upscale golf course. New England Golf' s Best 25 Public Access Golf Courses

By: Jim Hammond   |   DISCUSS

Compiling a list of the best golf courses in our area is a very subjective process and one that will surely be debated by my fellow golfers and writers. During a lull in the action at this years Deutsche Bank Championship I brought up the subject with veteran golf writers asking their opinions about the best public courses in the area. We all agreed there are three factors to keep in mind when making recommendations to our readers. The condition of the course, quality of the staff and ab   —   » Read More: New England Golf' s Best 25 Public Access Golf Courses
