Rory McIlroy signs endorsement deal with Bose

Rory McIlroy may no longer represent Titleist but golf’s top-ranked player has signed a new endorsement contract with another Massachusetts company, consumer-electronics firm Bose Corp.

McIlroy, introduced by the Framingham venture on Tuesday ahead of this week’s Honda Classic, says he loves music and has listened on Bose gear for years.

“Bose products are different. And Bose is different. They work hard at their innovations, they aren’t conventional, and they’re committed to doing things that haven’t been done before, just like I am,” McIlroy said about equipment he’s apparently far more familiar with than his new Nike clubs.

McIlroy inked the deal for an undisclosed amount after visiting Bose’s R&D facility in the Boston suburb. During his introduction ceremony — which was way toned down from the glitzy party Nike threw for him in Abu Dhabi — the two-time major champ went all Tiger Woods with a display of his trick-shot mastery. He even did his boyhood idol one better by somehow balancing a ball on the non-clubface side of his wedge. Watch it here.
