Harvard Mens Golf
The Harvard University Mens Golf Team led by Head Coach Jim Burke has assembled a highly competitive squad poised to compete for Ivy League titles and championships. The Crimson, which has improved its tournament scoring average in each of its last five seasons, will field a well balanced team consisting of returning players and newcomers from many regions of the United States, one from the United Kingdom, and three local talents from Massachusetts. Four players (senior Academic all American captain Tony Grillo from Marthas Vineyard, senior Academic all American Mark Pollak from San Antonio, sophomore Theo Lederhausen from Illinois, and Seiji Liu from Beverly Hills) participated in all matches during the 2010 season. Adding depth to this talented squad is returning junior Michael Lai from California, along with newcomers Akash Mirchandani from Kentucky, Jordan Mann from the United Kingdom, Connor Wentzell from Worcester Massachusetts and Kevin McCarthy from Lynn, Massachusetts ; all who will be competing for a position on the tournament roster. The team anticipates completing the season in the winning tradition which began when the program was founded in 1896. So far this year the team finished 2nd at HYP, 8th at The MacLaughlin and 5th at Yale’s MacDonald Cup. There is a log jam between there team members for the lowest individual average at 72.
