Waste Management Phoenix Open

Wednesday was a waste due to weather for the Waste Management Phoenix Open except for the Icy Birds Nest rocking with Ducks Soup and the Doobie Brothers. Thursday brought a stream of fans thirsty for competition and delays took the Wilson win to Monday. All that’s left is the cleanup and memories. Jimmy Hazen takes the 2010 Providence Open

PROVIDENCE: Jimmy Hazen’s charmed round began on the par three seventh hole. Coming off consecutive birdies Hazen hit a 6i that hopped, stopped, and spun into the cup. The Ryder Cup without Tiger

NEPGA Kicks off New England Amateur Tour

The TPC Boston was the host site for the 2010 NEPGA Amateur Tour on Monday April 19th. The event was the first of  20 events to be held at some of the top private and public golf courses in New England and a great opportunity for players at all levels of the game to enjoy tournament play. Disaster down the stretch, leads to a playoff in the field

After two days of wet, miserable weather, golfers at Thorny Lea finally saw the sun. Course superintendent, Jim Mederos tried to make it tough on the remaining 57 golfers with difficult pin placements but with the 6" of rain in the last two days, golfers were able to throw darts at the soft greens knowing they would hold. Nobody knows that better than field player Tony Direnzo from DW Field who aced the par 3 9th hole. Mike Carbone Wins the 2009 RI Open

After round one of the RI Open at Newport National, Mike Carbone (Brewster, MA) stood at 6 - under par in a three-way tie for the lead. He played phenomenal all day as I had the opportunity to play with him witnessing up and downs from virtually anywhere along with spectacular shot making.
