2011 PGA Merchandise Show on the books

 The most recent iteration of the PGA Merchandise Show is in the books and this one, the 58 th, was a smashing success perhaps even signaling a renewed positive view of the golf business. After last year’s gloomy mood during the Show this year’s mood could be characterized as cautiously upbeat. 

There were slightly fewer vendors exhibiting on the floor of Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center (approximately 980 versus 1,200 five years ago) but all four of the largest golf companies (Acushnet Company, TaylorMade Golf, Callaway Golf and Nike Golf) were there for the first time in three years. The number of golf buyers attending is a few days away from being announced but an estimate supported by media members who have been at the Show for many years is that attendance was up significantly and particularly up compared to the past two years.
