CHICAGO — The Middle Market Open Golf Tournament has raised more than $1.2 million after expenses since its inception in 2005 to support the unique, lifesaving programs of the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois (NKFI). This year’s tournament is scheduled for Monday, July 25 at Olympia Fields Country Club. Now in its seventh consecutive year, the Middle Market Open (MMO) annually attracts more than 250 players from leading middle market private equity firms, senior and junior capital providers, attorneys, accountants, consultants and portfolio company managers from the greater Midwest and beyond to compete in a Chicago, Illinois based golf tournament designed exclusively by and for the middle market deal making community. Playing on behalf of the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois (NKFI), tournament participants play the beautiful and challenging North and South Courses at Olympia Fields Country Club, which have hosted numerous major professional tournaments including the 2003 U.S. Open and the upcoming 2015 U.S. Amateur. Players compete for incredible prizes (trips to Pebble Beach and golf instruction from Butch Harmon himself) and also bid via silent auction on rounds of golf at “Top 100” private golf clubs and exclusive vacation packages. 2011 co-event sponsors are Harris Bank and Katten Muchin Rosenman. Gold Sponsors include Baker Tilly, Duff and Phelps, FTI Consulting, Gallagher Benefit Services, Goldberg Kohn, McGuire Woods and The PrivateBank. Financial support through the MMO has enabled the NKFI to provide free early detection screenings for diabetes, high blood pressure and other silent causes of chronic kidney disease – all of which, if undetected, can lead to extensive and irreversible kidney damage and significantly increase healthcare costs. Over the past five years, the NKFI has screened nearly 25,000 individuals (73% of whom had at least one significantly abnormal result that could lead to chronic kidney disease), making the NKFI one of the most effective organizations in the country dedicated to reducing both the healthcare impacts and taxpayer expenses of chronic kidney disease. ##### The National Kidney Foundation of Illinois provides prevention programs, educational services and materials for Illinois patients, transplant recipients and communities, as well as funding for medical research. NKFI is also committed to increasing the availability of all organs for transplantation through school, corporate, and community organ donor awareness programs and legislative initiatives. THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR SPONSORS AT THIS YEARS EVENT
