Brad Adamonis fires 62 at Mylan Classic

Posted in What's News by on September 2nd, 2011

Brad Adamonis, after shooting an opening round  4 over 74 at the Mylan Classic in Cannonsburg, PA, Thursday, came back fireing a 9 under par 62 in the second round moving from well outside the cut line to within four shots, (-6/136),  of current leader Josh Broadaway who is at 10/132 under after his second round. (UPDATE: Kevin Kisner also fired a 9 under 62 on Friday to take the lead at -13 129 after 36 holes.)

It is quite a feat to literally shoot your way back into contention after a bad opening round.  Sometimes it can be a real confidence builder.

Brad, while having ups and downs this year as he persues his quest to rejoin the PGA TOUR, has remained steadfast in his resolve.

At the level of play and competition on the Nationwide Tour, it takes a lot of stamina to stay focused as you compete with 20 somethings yearning for a taste of the ‘big leagues’ and the PGA TOUR.  Brad has that taste in his mouth having been successful in 2008, his first full year on the PGA TOUR.

Physical set backs are bad enough but often times it is the emotional issues that can dog an athelete well after that emotional trauma is passed.  Brad has a plan and, in spite of a rocky year on the Nationwide Tour, has shown this writer that his desire, coupled with his talent will carry him back to the PGA TOUR and the competition he so desires.
