Brad Adamonis 2 shots off lead at Price Chopper event

Posted in What's News by on August 12th, 2011

Brad Adamonis had a share of the lead at his half way point of the Nationwide Tour’s Price Choppers Charity Championship being played in Springfield, MO this week.

Adamonis is 12 under par 132 after shooting his 2nd 66 in as many days and third straight after firing a final round 66 for and a T15 in last week’s  Cox Classic.

Brad’s lead held up until first round leader Steve Friesen went to work  teeing off at 1:50pm local time.  Freisen took the lead Friday after a birdie on the 13th hole ironically put him at -13 and one ahead. A birdie on the  par 4 18th for 68, a 130, and a 1 shot lead ahead of Josh Broadaway.  Adamonis and four others are T3 at 13 under when the second round was complete.

Brad’s patience has apparently paid off as he has persevered on his road back to the PGA TOUR with his play showing steadily improvement.

In spite of being one of the most talented players out there, many had started to question if he would ever be able to comeback from the emotional roller coaster he was forced to ride after the passing of his father a couple years ago just as he was ascending the PGA TOUR ladder enjoying a measure of success.

Talking with Brad on the myNEGM LESSON TEE show, I sensed smoldering embers of desire that had never gone out. Well, those embers have steadily grown back into the burning fire Adamonis had in 2008.

It is pretty obvious that Brad is currently hitting on all cylinders and while there will be bumps to come he has quietly and patiently not strayed from his game plan which is to work his way back onto the PGA TOUR where he has proven he is comfortable and capable of entering the winner’s circle.

Will this be Brad’s week? Who knows. However, dealing with the emotional ups and downs of having to play catch up in a competitive sport rife with so much talent has, I feel strongly has further prepared this talented competitor from Cumberland, Rhode Island.
