January 13 — Reigning Deutsche Bank champ Charley Hoffman wants you to caddy for him at the PGA Tour’s Waste Management Phoenix Open in February. You may bid in an online auction for the chance to carry Hoffman’s bag during a practice or pro-am round at what golfers and fans alike refer to as the “Wasted Open” because of the boisterous crowds and cocktail party atmosphere.
For sure, the TPC Scottsdale experience is not for the timid, golf-clap crowd. Not to worry, though. Hoffman, who lapped the field in Boston last year, is an old hand at maneuvering his way through the frat boys and boo-birds at the wild and crazy 16th hole. Following a par on the renowned par-3 last year, the guy with the blond, surfer dude tresses tossed red meat to the wolves. Well, sandwiches, actually, but you get the picture.
Your golfer is certainly up to the challenge. Are you? If so, visit caddyforacure.com, click on “Charley Hoffman” under “Current Auctions,” and bid live or do away with the suspense and buy it now. Either way, you’ll be helping a great organization that provides financial assistance to the PGA Tour’s Birdies for the Brave charity, which supports military personnel and their families.
