October 7 — The woefully short New England golf season is winding down, but with foliage at its peak and special deals beckoning, Boston golfers may want to hold off stowing their clubs for the winter.
Free golf. You can’t do better than free golf, and that’s just what Cape Cod Country Club (North Falmouth, Mass.) is offering. All you have to do complete a brief online survey, print the voucher, and make your tee time. Use your voucher Monday through Thursday for the rest of the 2010 season — and don’t forget that Cape courses stay open long after their northern counterparts have closed up shop. Click here to take the survey and access your free greens-fee voucher and then make your tee time.
Boston courses drop rates. Boston golf courses are luring golfers with cut-rate greens fees. You may play William J. Devine Golf Course (617-265-4084) and George Wright Golf Course (617-364-2300) for $39 Monday through Thursday and after noon on Friday through Sunday. The fee includes a golf cart and the courses suggest you call ahead for tee times. Click here for more information.
Emergency golf in Connecticut. New England golfers have one more day — until October 8 — to get your golf on at Fox Hopyard Golf Club (East Haddam, Conn.). Pay for 18 holes with a cart at the Roger Rulewich-designed sister course of Crumpin-Fox Club and your second round is on the house. That’s a $71 savings. Call 860-434-6644 for tee times.
All-Star golf in New Hampshire. Golf & Ski Warehouse All-Star members may play Sagamore-Hampton Golf Club (North Hampton, N.H.) for $45. Don’t miss playing the seacoast’s original daily-fee golf course.
Cast your vote for golf in Dixville Notch. Leaf-peaping is at its best way up north, and so is the golf. Play unlimited golf at the The Balsams Grand Resort Hotel’s Donald Ross-designed Panorama Golf Course when you book The Balsams Callaway Golf Package. Stay three nights or longer and receive one Callaway Diablo Edge driver per room. Make your reservation before October 10 and hurray; offer ends October 17. Call 800-255-0600 for more information or book online.
These are just a few of the specials out there. Call your favorite courses for their fall golf deals.
You can’t beat fall golf on Nantucket. Read how non-members may play the ultra-exclusive Sankaty Head Golf Club in October.
