Fairhaven, MA (September 30, 2011) – Pinnacle, a leader in the distance and value golf ball category, has a long history of supporting charitable organizations that are aligned with the game of golf. Dedicated to the fight against breast cancer through awareness and funding research toward a cure, Pinnacle has been associated with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation since 1995. On October 1, Pinnacle will begin shipping its new Gold Ribbon golf ball to golf shops nationwide, coinciding with the start of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
In addition to making a significant financial contribution, Pinnacle features the Komen for the Cure icon on the new Gold Ribbon 15-ball packaging, while the Komen pink ribbon logo, the universally recognized symbol for breast cancer awareness, will be stamped on each Gold Ribbon golf ball as a distinctive reminder of the importance of early detection.
“Breast cancer is one of the leading health issues facing women and their families today, and early detection is the key to saving lives,” said Mary Lou Bohn, Vice President, Golf Ball Marketing, Advertising and Communications. “This is just one way for us to generate exposure and support for the Komen Foundation in its effort to provide funds for breast cancer research and education to eradicate this disease.”
Acushnet Company, which is comprised of the Titleist, FootJoy and Pinnacle golf brands, is a past recipient of the Komen Award for Corporate Philanthropy, which annually honors outstanding corporations and individuals in the fight against breast cancer.
The new Pinnacle Gold Ribbon is available in Bright White and Clear Pearlescent Pink, along with the flagship Pinnacle Gold, which will be available in Bright White and High Optix Yellow. All four models will begin shipping October 1 with an MSRP of $20 per 15-ball pack $15.99 MAP.
