JUPITER, Fla. – David McAndrew of Barrington, R.I., out-dueled James Donahoe of Marrieta, Calif., on Monday by 67 to 68 at Abacoa Golf Club to score his second Fuzion/Minor League Golf Tour victory in two weeks.
Both birdied the 16th hole and bogeyed the 18th, both par-4s, but McAndrew also birdied the par-5 17th. Overall, McAndrew had eight birdies and three bogeys, earning $600. Donahoe received $450 for a card showing six birdies and two bogeys. McAndrew also won on Sept. 27 on the Haig course at PGA National. Donahoe is still seeking his first MLGT title.
The $2,555 tournament drew 21 entries.
A second 18-hole tournament is scheduled here Tuesday in conjunction with the second round of a senior division event where Terry Burke of Bethesda, Md., leads Adam Adams of Coconut Creek 69-71.
