Scratch Junior Golf Upgrades to aboutGolf Simulators

MAUMEE, OH – Scratch Junior Golf (Scratch), an indoor junior golf training facility in San Diego, has selected aboutGolf as its new golf simulator technology partner.

Scratch has a mission to deliver the easiest and most fun way for junior golfers of all levels to maximize their potential, accelerate their growth and become great golfers. Scratch uses its exclusive Scratch Skills Handicap System (SSHS) to guarantee a 20% performance improvement for every student.

“aboutGolf Simulators are the only simulators that can support our teaching philosophies,” says Greg Lumsden, President of Scratch Junior Golf. “The comprehensive data about the club and ball, the accurate rendering of ball flight, and the variety of integrated teaching tools available in the aboutGolf Simulator make it the best tool of its kind in the world.”

The Scratch curriculum, developed by Rick Smith, the #2 rated golf instructor in the world (as voted by PGA TOUR players), is based on accelerated golf instruction, personalized high-tech performance analysis, competitive tournaments, fitness and fun.

“Scratch needed golf simulator technology that consistently provides comprehensive and accurate measurements along with a realistic golf experience in order to teach and ensure game improvement,” says Chuck Faust, President & COO of aboutGolf. “Replacing limited, competitive systems with our technology means students now benefit from meaningful instruction, while enjoying themselves.”

Scratch’s 13,000 square foot indoor training facility in San Diego features a 2,500 square foot putting green, a custom-designed 3,000 sq. ft. approach game area, a fitness area and four aboutGolf Simulators, powered by 3Trak and equipped with aG Balance and aG Flix.

“Today’s junior players are the future of golf. The opportunity to engage them in the sport, improving both their performance and their experience, is rewarding,” says Faust. “The Scratch teaching model is unique and we look forward to the future of our partnership.”
